Welcome to Craft Lane.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Craft Lane website and your purchase of products through our online store.

By accessing, browsing or using the Craft Lane website, creating an account, subscribing to our services or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with these Terms of Service, please do not use the website.

1. ABOUT CRAFT LANE

Craft Lane is an online marketplace and retail platform that showcases and sells products from independent makers, artists, vendors and suppliers.

Products available through Craft Lane may be supplied by different vendors.

Craft Lane operates the online store and may facilitate product listings, customer orders, payments, communications and delivery arrangements.

The relevant maker or vendor may be identified on the applicable product listing.

2. ELIGIBILITY TO USE THE WEBSITE

By using Craft Lane, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law.

If you are under the applicable age of majority, you should only use the website with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.

3. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

When using Craft Lane, you agree to:

Product photographs are intended to provide a reasonable representation of the products. Colours may appear differently depending on your device or screen.

5. PRODUCT AVAILABILITY

Products displayed on Craft Lane are subject to availability.

Stock levels may change, particularly where products are supplied by independent vendors.

If a product becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and, where applicable, arrange an appropriate refund or alternative solution.

6. PRICES

All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR), unless otherwise stated.

Prices may change without notice.

A price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted and paid for, except where permitted by applicable law.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that all prices are accurate.

If an obvious pricing error occurs, we may contact you before processing the order.

7. ORDERS

When you place an order, you are requesting to purchase the selected products.

An order is subject to availability and successful payment.

After placing an order, you will normally receive an order confirmation.

The confirmation does not necessarily mean that every product has been finally accepted for fulfilment.

If we are unable to fulfil an order or part of an order, we will contact you and provide an appropriate solution in accordance with applicable law.

8. PAYMENT

Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods available at checkout.

Craft Lane may use third-party payment providers to process transactions.

We do not generally store complete credit card or banking details ourselves where payment is processed through a third-party payment provider.

Orders may only be processed after successful payment has been received.

If payment is unsuccessful, reversed or otherwise not completed, the order may be placed on hold or cancelled.

9. DELIVERY

Craft Lane offers delivery options displayed at checkout.

Current delivery options may include:

PUDO – approximately R90
Courier Guy – approximately R150
Free delivery on qualifying orders over R1,000

Delivery charges and options may change from time to time.

Because Craft Lane works with multiple vendors, products from the same order may be dispatched from different locations.

As a result, one order may arrive in multiple parcels and at different times.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure orders are delivered within the estimated delivery period provided.

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

10. CUSTOMER DELIVERY INFORMATION

You are responsible for providing accurate delivery information when placing an order.

This includes:

Name
Delivery address
Contact number
Email address
Any relevant delivery instructions

Craft Lane is not responsible for delays or additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.

11. RETURNS, REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

Customer rights relating to returns, refunds, cancellations and defective products are governed by applicable South African consumer protection laws and Craft Lane's Refund & Returns Policy.

Nothing in these Terms of Service is intended to remove or restrict a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Customers should contact Craft Lane before returning a product.

Where a product is defective, damaged, incorrect or does not correspond with its description, please contact us with your order number and relevant information or photographs.

We will assess the matter and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.

12. PROMOTIONAL DISCOUNTS

Craft Lane may offer promotional discounts from time to time.

Discounts may be subject to specific conditions.

Unless otherwise stated:

Discounts may be limited to one use per customer.
Discounts cannot be exchanged for cash.
Discounts cannot be resold.
Discounts may have an expiry date.
Discounts may not be combined with other offers.

Welcome Discount

Craft Lane may offer new email subscribers a 10% discount on their first qualifying order.

The welcome discount is intended for one qualifying order per customer and may not be reused.

Craft Lane may take reasonable steps to prevent fraudulent or abusive use of promotional discounts.

13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Craft Lane name, logo, branding, website design, text, graphics, photographs created by Craft Lane and other original content are owned by or licensed to Craft Lane and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, modify, copy, distribute or commercially use Craft Lane's intellectual property without prior written permission.

Product photographs, artwork and other content belonging to individual vendors remain subject to the rights of the relevant creator or owner.

14. VENDOR CONTENT

Vendors are responsible for ensuring that the products and content they provide to Craft Lane are lawful and do not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of third parties.

Craft Lane may remove or suspend a product listing where we reasonably believe that it violates our requirements or applicable law.

15. WEBSITE CONTENT

We aim to keep information on the Craft Lane website accurate and up to date.

However, we do not guarantee that all website content will always be completely accurate, current or error-free.

We may update, change or remove website content at any time.

16. WEBSITE AVAILABILITY

We aim to keep Craft Lane available to customers, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

The website may occasionally be unavailable because of:

Maintenance.
Updates.
Technical problems.
Hosting problems.
Internet failures.
Security issues.
Circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Subject to applicable law, Craft Lane will not be responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including third-party service interruptions, courier delays, payment provider failures or other external events.

21. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL

Craft Lane will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

These may include:

Natural disasters.
Floods.
Fire.
Severe weather.
Power failures.
Internet or telecommunications failures.
Strikes.
Government action.
Civil unrest.
Pandemics.
Courier disruptions.
Vendor or supplier disruptions.
Other unforeseen events.

22. TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Craft Lane website where reasonably necessary, including where you breach these Terms of Service or use the website unlawfully.

Termination will not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination.
